The main purpose of the organisation is to provide services to the Australian community.

• ACFA was established and is operated for the wellbeing and benefit of the members and the general Australian community.
• ACFA promotes, provides and carries out activities, facilities or projects for the benefit or welfare of the community or any members who have a particular need by reason of youth, age, infirmity or disablement, or social or economic circumstances.
• ACFA has an overall community service purpose, and it is altruistic in nature.
