I have been a member of the FIAA now (ACFA)for over 21 years, in this time I have experienced and watched the organisation grow every year in their professionalism and expertise in dealing with any matters I require assistance in.

There are so many benefits with being a member of the ACFA, a few in particular are award wage information and allowances.  This is vital to me, the comfort knowing that at any time a staff member of the organisation can assist and make me feel at ease when I have a query regarding wage structures.

I have experienced this recently and being able to call the organisation to provide the knowledge, understanding and reassurance I required to help me through this time was just fantastic.  I could not have done it on my own.

The standard of service the ACFA has provided has improved every year I have been with the organisation, I believe now they are an A class organisation, providing all members with loads of information and support.

I have a wonderful rapport with the ACFA and am truly grateful for all the help they have  provided me over the years.

We have developed a strong relationship with the ACFA Workplace Advice Team. They have instilled confidence in our business by providing documentation, contracts, and award advice, as well as, acting as a trusted partner to table workplace issues as they arise.

Personally, I am an advocate for industry associations and the value they add to a business. ACFA is the leading association in our industry and keeps its members abreast of industry affairs. They are equipped for you to reach out to in times of need, whatever the inquiry. They are there for us, we just need to reach out.

Just like everyone that looks to complete an RPL, I had everyday work commitments throughout the entire process.

ACFC asked in-depth questions, and requested evidence of past employment and tasks/jobs. Providing this information allowed ACFA to prepare only the modules that I needed to complete instead of redoing an entire apprenticeship. I had previously completed my apprenticeship in New Zealand as a Boat Builder and Marine cabinetmaker, however to attain the Australian qualification, other modules required completion.

From day 1, Joe Sibly’s energy and support was unwavering. His ability to break each module into bite size pieces allowed me to fulfil the tasks required. Joe’s regular contact and communication allowed me to schedule RPL tasks around my busy work and family commitments. I would like to say a huge thank you to Joe for his perseverance and guidance throughout my RPL process.
