Skilling SA - Apprenticeship Pathways Program


This hands on program is designed to assist you in gaining skills to improve your chances of entering into an apprenticeship within your chosen Timber Trade pathway. You will learn skills and knowledge to be job ready and employable in a small group environment. Throughout the program you will have the opportunity to learn about career paths, allowing you to make a better informed decision about your future career direction. Work experience will be undertaken as part of the program providing you with hands on experience, giving you the opportunity to demonstrate aptitude, with the ultimate goal to secure an apprenticeship.


  • How to use hand and power tools
  • How to read drawings
  • How to make industry measurements & calculations
  • Identify career and apprenticeship opportunities in the Timber Trades
  • Gain a White Card on completion 


  • Thorough understanding of the skills used in Timber Trades
  • Gain hands on experience
  • Apprenticeship opportunities
  • Develop skills to be prepared and attractive to employers
  • Grow self confidence
  • Free Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

    *upon successful completion, units may be used as credit towards apprenticeship qualification

  2. Have left or completed School
  3. Resident of SA
  4. 10 week commitment to undertake training and to be apprenticeship ready

This initiative is funded through the South Australian Government’s  Skilling South Australia program. 

It will be delivered as a collaboration between the  Australian Cabinet & Furniture Association (ACFA),  Employment Options and North East Vocational College.
