Skilling SA - Apprenticeship Pathways Program

 FREE 10 WEEK pre-apprenticeship TRAINING PROGRAM


This hands on program is designed to assist you in gaining skills to improve your chances of entering into an apprenticeship within your chosen Timber Trade pathway. You will learn skills and knowledge to be interview ready, conducted in a small group environment. Throughout the program you will have the opportunity to learn about career paths, allowing you to make a better informed decision about your future career direction. Work experience will be undertaken as part of the program providing you with hands on experience.


LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • How to use hand and power tools
  • How to read drawings
  • How to make industry measurements & calculations
  • Identify career and apprenticeship opportunities in the Timber Trades
  • How to effectively communicate in the workplace and work in a team
  • Ability and knowledge of working safely in the industry

PARTICIPATION OUTCOMES:

  • Thorough understanding of the skills used in Timber Trades
  • Gain hands on experience
  • Apprenticeship opportunities
  • Develop skills to be prepared and attractive to employers
  • Grow self confidence
  • Free Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) 

TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT TO BE DELIVERED BY ACFA (RTO CODE:  90432):

  • MSMSUP102 Communicate in the Workplace
  • MSMSUP106 Work in a Team
  • MSMWHS200 Work Safely
    *upon successful completion of the above units, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment.  These units may then be used as credit transfers towards an apprenticeship qualification.  NB:  Transfer will depend on the qualification and will require approval according to the conditions of the RTO's credit transfer policy. 

TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT TO BE DELIVERED BY NEVC (RTO CODE:  40222)

  • CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
    *upon successful completion participants will be eligible to receive a White Card

PARTICIPATION CRITERIA:

  • Left or finished School
  • Resident of SA
  • 10 week commitment to undertake training commencing on 26 August 2019

  4. 10 week commitment to undertake training commencing on 26 August 2019

NB:  Pre-Enrolment Sessions will be held in Adelaide on 15 August for participants to learn about the program and undertake a Learning, Literacy and Numeracy assessment.  To select your Pre-Enrolment Session complete the Expression of Interest below.  Please allow 2 hours for your Pre-Enrolment Session.
