Funding was released late last week for the North and Far North Tropical Low weather event 29 Jan to 28 Feb 2025.
Applications opened from 14 May 2025 until 14 May 2026, for eligible to receive a single up-front grant payment of up to $15,000 (excluding GST).
Defined disaster areas
The Minister for Fire and Emergency Services has activated disaster assistance for the North and Far North Tropical Low, 29 January – 28 February 2025.
To be eligible for assistance your business must be located in one of the defined disaster areas:
- Burdekin Shire Council
- Cairns Regional Council
- Cassowary Coast Regional Council
- Charters Towers Regional Council
- Hinchinbrook Shire Council
- Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council
- Townsville City Council
- Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire Council
